Midnight and quiet-
Alone on my bed
I know half way around the world,
you’ve woken up- maybe an hour ago,
The whole day today,
I couldn’t let go
of this thought of you
in my inner eye, that splendid view,
Of when we meet next-
that warm embrace,
with anxious gasps and bated breath
I look towards your lovely face…
